Nella telefonata intercettata, le persone coinvolte sembrano agitate e preoccupate, perchè si accorgono che l’aereo abbattuto era un aereo di civili. Nonostante lo scetticismo generale sull’intercettazione, il capo dei servizi segreti ucraini ha dichiarato a Reuters: “Mi sembra chiaro chi sia il colpevole”.
Apparentemente le telefonate sono state tre: una venti minuti dopo lo schianto (a conferma del fatto di aver portato a termine “la missione”), una tra due militanti presenti sul luogo dello schianto che si accorgono immediatamente che si adi un aereo civile e l’ultima dove Nikolay Kozitsin dichiara cinicamente che anche se si fosse trattato di un errore, quell’aereo non avrebbe dovuto volare lì.
